PC upgrade - overclock/GPU?

I'm half-thinking of upgrading my PC in the next few weeks before BF4, TWR2 and ARMA3 come out.

    These are my current specs:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
    GPU: Radeon HD 6850 - 1 GB GDDR5
    RAM: 4GB-Kit Corsair Twin3X4096-1333C9A DDR3, CL9
    Mobo: MSI 770-C45
PSU: XFX Core Edition PRO 550W
    HDD1: Crucial 256GB M4 SATA 6Gb/s 2.5 inch SSD
    HDD2: Samsung HD501LJ 500GB 7.2K SATA 3.5" HDD
    Case: Cooler Master Elite RC-332
    Monitor: BenQ G2220HD 21.5" 1080p
    OS: Windows 7 64-bit

What would be the best way of spending €150-200 on an upgrade?

Should I consider doing a spot of overclocking before I do anything else?

CPU is still pretty decent, good OC'ing potential in it as well. The only true weak point is the 6850, get a 7870 and even without overclocking the 965 you'll see a massive performance increase. 7870 (150 on Pixmania at the moment) and a decent CPU cooler (Evo 212) will have you playing the latest games at high-ultra @ 1080p.

check out bargain alerts forum on top of this one. Some GXT 670 and 680s are dropping prices at about 220-250 EUR, these guys are really powerful and will easily last until 870 or 880 comes out.

As for Arma 3 alone, you will see more performance from CPU upgrade, luckily it doesn't matter much whether you go with Intel or Amd, since neither will be using cores fully. The CPU that overclocks better would theoretically gain more frames while keeping same CPU usage. The sweet spots for fps I've noticed are 4Ghz and 4.5Ghz.

I'd say go with GPU upgrade for now, get yourself an Arma 3 beta (release will be more expensive) and play around. Don't judge fps from multiplayer, it depends on many factors.
