Travelling to the UK with a minor

    Hi there.

I want to bring my 15 year old cousin to the UK for a weekend to visit my sister who has emigrated. Do I need special documentation to take her out of the country to show I'm not kidnapping her? (We have different surnames so there'll be no assumption that we're sisters or anything).

If I wait until she's 16, do things change? Just because everything I see about unaccompanied minors only goes up to 15 years old.

Also, if we flew from Derry or Belfast rather than Dublin, would that change things since it's more an "internal" flight?

    Thanks :)
