2006 Volkswagen Passat replacement key

    I was just ringing around to a couple of Volkswagen passet dealers in my area and getting a price for a replacement key for my passet. It's looks like I'm goin to get hit for bout €290 which seem very expensive. Does anyone know where I could get a key cheaper?

    The likes of autokey would do it. Dont know about price

    Where are you located OP? I think Autokey is mainly Dublin and surrounds.

    I'm from Kilkenny. I priced autokey anyway and there quoted €260. While the Volkswagen dealer here in kilkenny quoted me €290 so not a massive amount in the difference.

    Keep shopping around.
    A key shop here quoted me 60 for a new key with transponder (I can get a new remote online easy).

    The key on my passat is a slot in key. There fairly expensive the key itself costs €175 excluding VAT, then it has to be programmed into the car aswell which costs around €50 It all come to about €270. Don't know where else could possibly sort me out for much cheaper. I obviously have a key at the moment but I just have the 1 so just want to have a spare.
