Liverpool or manchester?

    My mum and myself are trying to plan a trip away for the weekend for some shopping see the sights etc. but we are tied between manchester or liverpool? Anyone any suggestions which is nicer? Better for shopping etc?

    +1 for manchester. trafford centre for shopping and hotels for all budgets

    Liverpool by far.liveepool1 is a huge shopping area

    If you have the time, Manchester and Liverpool are quite close, so you could do a day in each if you wanted to strictly go "shopingggggggggggg" . But more to see around Manc as it's a bigger city.
    Liverpool still nice though. Probably have the same shops in Liverpool as Manc.
