You should be able to claim that you are a second chance student

    UCD allow it

    http://www.ucd.ie/registry/adminservices/fees/free_tuition.htm
students who have been verifiably absent from 3rd level education for a minimum of 5 years since attempting, but not completing, a first-time degree AND who belong to one of the above categories may be considered “second chance” i.e. eligible for a further round of funding under the Free fees Initiative.

    NUIM allow it

    http://fees.nuim.ie/freefees.shtml
Tuition fees will be paid in respect of students who, having attended but not completed approved courses, are returning following a break of at least five years in order to pursue approved courses at the same level in the 2013/2014 academic year.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

UL also allow it but don't use the term 'second chance'. This is last years document but I doubt much has chanced.

Go to Free Fees Initiative - point 7
