3 aircrafts today, approx 7pm ?

Don't know where to check online, I think 3 loud aircrafts passed overhead around 7pm today, they seemed very high, no contrails, and fast. Another plane then went by with contrails a lot lower, in the direction of Cork I think (so I was able to contrast and compare a bit). I'm in co Waterford, Knockmealdowns. The 3 aircrafts (not really in formation) were headed South West .

Just wondering what these were, I'm used to airforce jet planes passing overhead in France, but they usually fly low, so wondering if such planes fly over Ireland up high sometimes ?

    Thanks !

edit : forgot to mention, first aircraft appeared jet black, and was well ahead of the other two, which appeared silver, but it could all have been effects from the lovely sunshine.

I guess nobody knows about this then ? Or nobody wants to reply because they're afraid I'll get into a big debate about aliens ?

I tried checking flightradar, and some other tracking sites that came up when googled, but my connection just can't cope with these and it's impossible to get a page to load properly.

I thought maybe there could have been an airshow somewhere and aircraft going/coming to it, or some military comings and goings that someone might know about...

    No big deal.

we live in the south east and get Flight Radar 24 no problem and we also track quite a lot of planes going to the south west and those coming east from the US and Canada.
The ones going south are normally holiday planes to the Canaries.
At the moment it is far too cloudy to see anything, Slievenamon is to our south west .
When we are in Dungarvan there is a lack of aircraft, must be slightly off route.
    regards

Lucky you with a good connection. Mine is up and down, some good days but mostly bad.

I'm above Dungarvan, and well used to the commercial aircrafts overhead heading from North East to Cork, or headed West/South West. We have a good few helicopters as well (not just the rescue one) flying over the Comeraghs and then over us in Knockmealdowns, again usually headed Cork/West.

The aircrafts yesterday were more unusual that's why I decided to ask on here. I thought they might be helicopters too, but helicopters flying over us are usually a lot lower, and there's no mistaking them for anything else... in this case I couldn't make out a shape so that would give you an idea of the distance.

    Thanks for the reply.

Did they look like jet aircraft? If so, it'd be departures from Dublin to Cork, Portugal or Canaries. Not sure if Spanish flights are routed over where you are

hi, we use 3G dongle at home and in Clonea, if you need assistance re internet, have you tried Steve at the back of Eurospar and Kellys pharmacy, the entrance is in the car park, I bring my computers to him when they are sick.
Have you pencilled in the 15 September the fly past down the liffey, they reckon 30 to 40 aircraft, an estimated crowd of 100k.
    roger and out
