    Hi folks.
    Looking for some simple suggestions.
    Currently all white, flooring down.
Skirting is cut and varnished and ready to be attached.

Colors can be changed or maybe add stensils or stick on kids stickers.
Its for a boy, currently aged 2.5 yrs. Loves Fireman Sam, Tomas tank engine, football, farms, tractors, cars, diggers! :D

Pics attached of the room from a few angles.
    The dims are attached also

We have zero furniture for the room so will be looking at a bed, wardrobe (can possible build one in and then what ever else will fit. Maybe a small desk and chair.
Room is a dormer, so there is a slope! The height of the wall at the bottom of the slope is 4ft 3".

Pic 1 - length is 6ft 8 long to the edge of the door.
Pic 2 - Another angle. Wall height is 8ft 2" high
    Pic 3 - With window is 8ft 9"
    Pic 4 - Wall on left - 14ft 5", 4ft 3" high
    Pic 5 - Different view.

The room looks smaller in the pics for some reason :)

Ikea has been mentioned, so that can be an option. Though I will ordering online and having to get ManWithVan to pick it.

    Thanks very much

We recently done up our house and got some great stuff from Ikea, these storage units(pic below) are my favourite. Have them in all our kids rooms now. They come in all different sizes so are ideal for a room that's shape isn't conventional and makes it easier to put all the toys away. We got loads of wall stickers too. I went to DLK Wall Designs in Dublin1 on the recommendation of someone here to find wallpaper and ended up getting stickers for all the kids too. For a child of your sons age the only thing I'd say is avoid fireman Sam or whoever he loves at the moment because he'll grow out of them sooner than you'd think, next month it'll be sponge bob . I'll attach a pic of one I got for our youngest.. The floors look great btw, maybe get a kids rug too, it might help protect them a bit..

That room will be gorgeous for your little boy I love the floor its beautiful. You could put your bed by the window and maybe a wardrobe further up that wall as it has the height though not sure of space between it and door.

I would agree with previous poster about avoiding Thomas etc on Walls as they do change their mind so often maybe you could buy a Thomas lamp or something that wouldn't be mad expensive to change.

I painted my sons room a beautiful green colour called providence from Dulux and it would look great with your floor colour I made a mistake and painted it blue originally and I personally found it cold so was much happier with the green.

I also got mine those lights for ceiling that are shaped like different objects you can get rocket ships the man on the moon things like that and mine still love them a few years on. You can get then in Woodies and places like that I
am sure you will have no problem getting chests of drawers for the dormer wall in Ikea and the like I live in a dormer myself so those low ceilings can be a challenge at times

    Excellent, some great ideas.
The paint, is that a very "dull" green, I think I found it on their site there. Looks v nice. Would you do all walls or just one wall? Be nice and cosy for sure :D

Also the position of the bed, is it the headboard at the window or the headboard say on the left of the window running left to right?
That is something I can't figure and will of course dictate what side we can put the wardrobe and what size :D

Agree actually on the FireMan sam thingy. I love them lights for sure, wud love a lamp we can leave on all night. I wonder if they can be got in ikea and or argos.

    Thanks very much

I would be inclined to put it left of the window headboard beside window and run it along that low dormer wall as it kind of gets rid of the problem area for you and there will be enough head space for him that's what I would have done in one of my rooms worked a treat then you could put the wardrobe on opposite wall where you have 8 ft height.

Trying to describe the green colour now I always call it a Heritage green but maybe I only know what that means it dull earthy tone not at all sharp or lime if that makes sense. I would paint it all one colour in a dormer room one wall might make room look smaller when it's unusual shape.

You can buy those character lamps Definitely in Argos and they also sell the plug in Lindam night lights which are safe for leaving in all night we use one for baby and it automatically switches off in daylight

I have used these decals in both my daughters room and my boys room

    http://www.roommatesdecor.com/wall-decals-for-boys.aspx

Web site is American but my local pharmacy stocks a great range of them. They definitely come off the wall and leave no marks. As kids are as changeable as the wind it means I can update the room without too much hassle and they look brilliant on the wall. Another thing I have done is pick up some large picture frames and put posters of their current fav character ( Diego, Fireman Sam etc ) and again I can switch it out.
We also have their names up on the wall, picked up handpainted letters on ebay and the kids love them.
The walls in the boys room are yellow and green ( does not sound great but it really works ). I think with kids rooms the brighter colours are great, go a bit mad - the kids will love it. :D

It took me a while, but got the young lad moved in last night.
Just a few quick pics on how it turned out.

He was v happy with it :D

Still need to get some decals maybe these

Going to Ikea next week to pick up a beside lamp and maybe another wee rug.

Thinking about the lighting, he wants a night light on, so I was thinking.
LED lighting, where the 4 foot wall meets the dormer celiling, if I ran an LED strip?
Do they heat up or are they dangerous?

    Something like this

Ah Yop it looks gorgeous and look at that happy face on your beautiful son what a dote. Love the wall colour and bed spread gives it a kind of nautical feel you could get some boats and lighthouses to decorate always available in sea side towns. Love the wall decals but a wee bit stunned at the sea creatures being €84.99 and the monkeys being €19.99 seems a shocking price difference but sea creatures nice if you wanna go nautical. I am afraid I know know nothing about LED lights so can't help you there but it would look great.

Well done fab job a happy boy in his new room in time for Santa !!!

Took more photos to show the wardrobe and dresser.

Them decals are mental, I only copped the price. Must look elsewhere!

My missus thinks the strip LED could look gawdy.

    Still not sure myself.

I only finished my daughters room who is of similar age and was starting to get carried away before I got reigned in. Ikea do some cheap strip lights but this one, which is meant for book cases etc, can vary between colours and I was thinking it would look good behind a book case we have in her room. However we already had a low brightness flower shaped wall light that does a similar purpose.

They have this set of decals in Fermoy Medical Hall, think they are about €20. Just thought it would work with the nautical style of the bedding, am sure they can post to you

    :D
