    Hi there,

I am having some real issues with the teaching council. About three years ago when I moved from England I was promised that my regristration would be back dated and not to worry, all money would be returned. This was the norm in previous years. I waited two months as I didn t have much money at the time and it didn't matter as they would back date. I lost out on a lot of money snd mow it has cost me a permanent job as I missed out on those two months of not being regristed. Any similar problems? Would like to take this further.

I would suggest talking to your union.

Are you working in primary or secondary?

The teaching council can be very awkward to deal with. You have to comply with their terms, because they only work on their terms. If you manage to get to talk to the teaching council on the phone, well done!

The one I spoke to was not very nice. She hung up on me, eventually.

I did speak to my union at the time. No luck there, the union told me to comply.

Taking it further.....there is no further in my experience.

Thanks. I did talk to my union, pretty useless too. Very black and white, hod forbid if anybody had to work for their money.

Trying to get more people in similar positions and take them to court for misinforming and taking money that should be ours, due to their errors.
In my case , it cost me a permanent job too. I am in primary. Your problem wasn't anything similar?
