Front Garden Wall Ownership

    Hi,

can someone please shed some light on this?

We paid for & built a wall on between our semi detached house and the connecting property. Right down the middle with a pillar at the end. A wall branches off on our side but not the other.
The letting company for the property next door have bolted into the pillar their most recent to let sign. It will leave two large holes once removed. We have tried to get him to remove it but to no avail.
Is this pillar & wall ours? Can they damage their side as they see fit? Or is it in fact a 'shared' boundry wall which they have legal rights to?

    Thanks
