I am going to try to make this. Not much left now of the road racing, got to make the best of it.

Looks like a route for the climbers but are there really going to be 3-4 separate races going in both directions on this stretch of road at the same time?

Shouldn't be passing out on a continuous line anyway :D

Does anybody know what the finish is like? Flat or hilly? It will possibly have broken up before that though.

Route is flat enough ,we use climb in ballyorgan on our club training runs as fourth of five climbs -when training for Wicklow. you will come into ballyorgan very fast from a decline but be carefull of bend to right at bottom which can catch a group out . Climb has a steep bit at start which you will have enough speed at start to get a good bit up, then it levels for few hundred meters and you have another short sharp climb, it's not too bad. Surface is little rough up to ardpatrick for a little bit but then isn't too bad , surface on climb up ballyorgan is good with fast decent into kilfinane with a little section of bumpy road.

This says the lap is 33km. The website says the lap is 22km. What's the story? Is the lap cut short on the final time round to get to the finish line? Eg the A4 race is 55km so is it a 33km lap and then a 22km section of the lap?
    Thanks!

Quality race. Surface was hidiously rough at times but thats only minor. Powerful hill and the descent was pretty safe.
Well done Kilmallock, another great race in the Limerick area and well placed on the calendar to prep for Charleville 2-day.

To be honest, I thought the opposite, there were plenty marshals perhaps even too many at some junctions but the narrow, windy descent after the climbing could have done with someone managing the traffic as I think the A3 bunch met cars around the same narrow bend every time around.
We then had young fellas running along the road towards us on the road as we approached the final.

Great course though, a very good test and a good spread after.

Cracking race, climb was a beast especially the last 600mtrs,marshaling was one the best of the year, delighted with club mate getting 4th in A3 race and having another in the break for most the race, dropped my chain going up climb on 1st lap,had a tough 5km ride to get back on but did and was happy to hear we had a rider in a strong breakaway,so then it was time work for him stopping lads getting across and being a nuisance, managed to do that until going up climb 3rd time when Dylan and Stephan drilled it and broke everyone's balls,my other clubmate had a bundle left in him and went with them and they caught the breakaway going up climb last time,we had two lads in main break then happy days, but one got dropped as he was out there all day and the other stayed on to get 4th despite his saddle flipping up when he hit pothole,so good day for team and club.

Chapau Kilmallock on a great event, again race route was a real test for all.

You can't marshal every bend and from what I saw it was one child and yes he shouldn't have crossed but the cycling club can't account for that!!

Only got to watch a bit of it due to a charity sportive being on same day from charleville but looked good, a few ex racers from our club took part to support event .
Glad to hear the racing crowd thought the climb was challenging, wont feel so bad next time I'm hauling my ass up there:).

No, there were four lads running straight down the road. Just down the hill. But not much could be done about that.

One thing that could have been done
A bike marshall or car should have been pulled to do lead for the A3 bunch as cars were coming at us at a serious pace. I saw a car a long way up the road a couple of times, but it seemed to be too far ahead of the bunch to have an effect on the traffic.

Other than that, a great day out. My first time there and will be back for more all going well.

    Well done Kilmallock.
