    Hi Folks,

Have you got your hands on the Philips radio yet... bit overpriced for the features but looks a stunner so am reluctantly keen on it. If you do have it, can you please quote me a price including delivery to Dublin

    Cheers!

    Hi there.

    Thanks for the post.

This isn't one that we stock and given the love our boss has of Philips products and the fact that he loves retro....I don't know why we haven't had it in !

I can ask our purchasing guys if we can supply one as a special order but it may not work out much cheaper as we'll be buying it as a one-off.

Let me know if you would like us to get a price for you.

    ATB

    Hi Dave,

My apologies for resurrecting this conversation 3 months later... but Christmas is now upon us and this is just the perfect present for the better half...

Can I still take you up on the offer of getting a price on this one? It's the basic model without the iPhone dock (OR7000) that I am after and the dark wood finish is the only one that I am interested in... I can see it on amazon.fr and amazon.es but surprisingly not on the uk website..

Please let me know if you have any way of sourcing one and I am very interested in buying it

    thanks in advance!

    FB,

I agree that it looks like a great bit of kit, unfortunately we are not stocking it and I cant offer you a price on it at the moment.

We are just starting to stock the Roberts retro revival range of Radios - if there was any in that range to suit I would love to quote you?

    Keep us posted,

    Thanks for getting back John
I had a look at the Roberts but think it's the Philips that the heart is set on.

Can I ask you for some advice though? I have managed to find these online and there are two versions one with DAB+ and the other is standard FM/AM/LW
Would you think it's worth paying an extra 60 € for DAB+? I live in Dublin and FM has kept me fairly happy, besides a lot of the use of this will be streaming via airport express...

To be honest, AT THE MOMENT I don't see a huge benefit to DAB in Dublin as there is a fairly limited spectrum of channels available at the moment and many of them are broadcasting at low bitrates so they sound better in FM - however there are a few specialist channels like RTE Gold / RTE Kids etc that are not available on FM - if you wont miss them - Id just opt for teh FM only version..

Thanks again and apologies we couldnt source them for you directly,

Thanks for getting back John, I had a look at the channels and no interest in the ones exclusive to DAB... Thing is that I am more than happy with FM both quality and the channels. The only thing playing on my mind was if FM is on it's way out as this radio is a bit of a classic looking think that I look forward to keeping for a good few years and let it 'age' but I think FM should be around for a good few years...

so thanks again for your advice and do hope the next piece of AV I buy is from richer sounds

Wishing a good Christmas & New Year to all at Richersounds!

    Cheers.
