something that I'm having a bit of a problem with is uneven muscle development, particularly in the chest and shoulder area as my right side is much more developed and defined than my left. anyone know why this is and what can be done to help??

    You could switch to dumbbells.

I am guessing you are right handed, so you might aid lifting the barbell more with the right side, so it works more and gets stronger, then this could snowball -the stronger the right side gets -the more it is used to lift the bar.

Ya I,ve read that this is often the reason for this problem but the funny thing is I only use dumbbells. Have used a barbbell two or three times in my life :L
