According to the Irish Times, the points requirements and those who will be offered courses already known. Points for Agriculture and Food as well as STEM courses have seen the highest rise, while Teaching, Arts and Law courses have seen a fall in demand...

I'm not seeing anything there (in any of the article) about a rise or fall of points in any course. That the points are already known and applications fleshed out, yes, but that's to be expected - they're hardly going to do it all in realtime or on the morning of!

Thing is, that's a rise in demand, not points. Could have a load of people putting those down with unrealistic expectations. Liamag seemed to be suggesting that the points for those courses are already known and have gone up. While it's extremely likely that a rise in applicants will mean a rise in points, it's not a guarantee.

Also, Liamag made it seem like this was a recent finding. That article is from the start of March.
