Im interested in buying a lenovo g505 laptop for €430 from argos.

Amd E1 dual core, 4gb ram and amd shared graphics.

Also do all lenovo's come with spill proof keyboards.

    Just don't!

For 50 Euro less you'll get a Core i3 laptop which is lightyears ahead in terms of processing power.

AMD E1 Fusion processors are painfully slow. Their benchmark scores are somewhere in the neighbourhood of an Intel Atom netbook processor.

Argos customers would tend to be less tech-savvy and they're probably fobbing them off with old stock as the previous poster has pointed out. Most electronic gadgets on Argos are overpriced or out of date, I wouldn't touch them for technology of any kind except maybe electric toothbrushes or smoke alarms.

To answer your question, I have a Lenovo SL510 Thinkpad bought in 2010 and it's humming along nicely. There is a layer of plastic under the keys which is obviously a first line of defence against coffee spills but I rarely have a drink near the machine so have never tested it!

Wouldn't buy a laptop from argos myself.

But to answer your question, Lenovo's are generally of a good build quality. I agree with the above poster, get something with at least an i3. Won't cost too much more, and it'll be worth it :)

Don't forget to check online retailers, preferably irish ones, as you will probably get better value than any of the shops :)

It's not only Argos that do stuff like that. Most laptop "deals" when you get into the details are old stock.

In answer to your question; Lenovo are fine. Typing on one right now. Most laptop parts are universal.
