I don't know the details but it appears that this was an important historical event. I've asked born and bred Greystoners and they looked at me like I had two heads. Finally I know it is not made up because there is an anniversary tonight!

    Anyone have more factual details?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

You have probably been asking the wrong age group!
There is a plaque at Kilcoole station/beach that tells you all about it, though must say haven't noticed it last couple of times down there, probably a case of familiarity breeds contempt....:)

Is it Going to be loads of People in Combats & Sunglasses? Or More of a Historical Celebration Than a Polictially motivated event?

These events are usually overtaken by the former.... I'd be interested in going along but not if it's just an opportunity for John Brady to get his face in the local papers.
