After watching BT sport 1 HD (In pub on a 52"), going down to Setanta 1 for the Arsenal/Villa match is painfull. Why is Setanta only available in HD on UPC here? Is it another EPL/Sky restriction I wonder?? There has to be an explanation for this. Its worse than a dodgy Internet stream. Luckily I have Polish TV at home, so watching it now at home on Canal+ but in Polish.

Setanta 1 is terrible. Was going to watch the match at 3 but the quality was too bad to watch. You'd have to want to watch it to put up with the poor picture.

It really is terrible, as you say if you had a broadband connection fast enough then you could watch it online with superior quality... that's an awful indictment on Setanta as a subscription broadcaster... as for it not being available on sky, well there is obviously an agreement in place with UPC to keep it exclusive to that platform.

UPC covered the costs of equipment to make setanta Ireland in HD. They must of signed a exclusivity deal with them for HD only on UPC aswell.

Its amazing that the HD channel isn't a combination of SI/SS1... the one thing that everyone gets SS for (the Prem Lg) is being broadcast SD while Ligue 1 is on the HD channel ... You would have wonder what they do be playing at

Anyone else find the Setanta graphics have by this stage become very much dated, compared with the rest they don't look slick.
