deficit deadlifts

    Wide-grip deadlifts from a 3-4 inch step are programmed for NROLFW. Reading Eric Cressey, he says they're a bad idea from a spine health perspective. http://www.ericcressey.com/deficit-deadlift-strength-exercise
    Would it be better to stick with conventional deadlift?

    Have you your form and flexibilty nailed for regular deadlifts?

    I cant imagine any real benefit for the average person. Keep it simple Id say.

    If you can hinge and maintain good spinal alignment, go for it.

    If not, don't.

    Simples.

    .....most people can't get a good position for normal DLs, so I dunno how a snatch grip deficit would work.

    I don't think they actually decided to do them, but rather she is questioning their inclusion in the program.

    Yep, New Rules of Lifting for Women it is. I had a couple of sessions lately with a PT and he was happy with my deadlift so I think I'll give this a go. Thanks for the replies.
