Suitable SIM package for short trip to UK?

I had a look at the Tescomobile billpay roaming charges and they are steep - 30c/min for calls, 30c / mb for data.

What do other members use when in UK?
Any recommended SIM card for a short trip of a few days?
I could pick up one at the mobile shop in the airport in Dublin, no idea what carriers they offer.

do you know of a package i can buy once as a prepay sim that i will only use a couple of times a year , maybe a week at a time?

You can do that with it, its a prepay sim card. You get 30 days from the day you topup with the €20
