Nursing this year too late ??

    I was wondering if it was too late to get onto a nursing course this year and if so what is the best way of getting on one next year ???

    ps

    I curenttly work as a full time senior healthcare assistant with fetac L 5 but not a hope of the 8 distencions

    Yes its too late for Sept 2013. If you dont have the LC points or the FETAC requirments then the best bet is the Mature Student application route for those aged 23 or older.
    CAO applications open in early November and you have up to the 1st of February to apply using the CAO Mature Nursing codes in your application.
    You also need to register for the Mature Nursing Assessment tests. This is done by registering with the website www.publicjobs.ie Registration opened this year in mid February. The assessment tests are held in April, you get a points score based on your performance in these and that determines whether or not you get a place.
