    So anyone playing?

Basically as near a total conversion of the 3rd edition board game as you can get. If you're a fan of the board game (and I am) then its awesome, but if you're expecting anything else you'll be disappointed (no other bells and whistles).

I love the board game, but can rarely get to play it. This way, I don't need to find a 2nd player and I don't have to set it up and tidy all the pieces away afterwards :D

I'm damn tempted. I'll almost certainly pick it up on iOS, the question is whether I'll get the PC version as well. :P

Buggy as hell at the moment. House mate is playing it and having issues, struggling thru though. I loaded up and my second move, game crashed. Hopefully they will get it sorted quickly enough. There was a patch over the weekend at least, I havent tried it, but it was predominately bug fixing I believe.

Any game which is crashing on the second move doesn't deserve your/our money imho.

If they can't be bothered to do a decent amount of testing before release or release with known bugs such as that, then it doesn't say much for their commitment to customers.

It does appear to be wonderfully half-assed and poorly thought out in many respects. Or a cynical cash grab if you want to be, um, a cynic. :P

It's been patched twice already in the last three days. I've had a fairly bug free game so far, with 4 hours or so spent on it.

Some aspects are rough, including poor animations and weak textures, the bolts seem to be rendered as flat objects and so on.

There are in turn some good touches, the helmet cam in the upper right, if there's a move and fire target available,or when it attempts to move and fire if you only select move.

But otherwise it's a faithful reproduction from all I've seen.

One of the most serious, nerd, criticism of it that I've heard is that bolters sound like machine guns. Which is a small thing but disappointing to those who are into the universe.

So far I've only seen one game where bolters sound like they should, and that was Space Marine.

I might give it a go, but when it's on sale.

yea I am gonna give it another month, one of the patches came through on Sunday (guys must be working hard :) )
I have hopes that it will get to a much better place quickly enough, and that it will be a good game.

I got a bit annoyed at some of the spelling mistakes I've spotted at various points (It was before they put out the patches, but I swear at one point I saw difficulty spelled with one f). It's not a brilliant game, but I've found it enjoyable enough, though I have at times found myself wishing Relic had made it.

Angron getting a bit annoyed is not a good thing......

Highlighting activable genestealer entry points when mouse is over.
Added more informative log messages for the close attacks.
Showing the GS entry points you can use during the blips placement mode with different color and not showing entry tiles when not used.
Lurk zone tiles show information about AP needed to place+enter.
Showing hit percentage for ranged attacks when mouse is over target unit
    New main menu background
Changed “Use Lightmaps” option to say “Use dynamic lights” and swapped the checkmark.
You have to finish all actions with a Genestealer before being able to take any other action with another.
Hotseat: Debriefing now always shows stats from the Terminator point of view.

    Bugfixes:
Fixed the close combat resolution on ladders. Had bug for turning after close attacks.
Fixed the combat draw case resolution - defender now turns to the attacker in the draw case.
Blip is now revealed correctly if on ladder
Fixed bug with overwatch on the ladders
Fixed bug with opened doors not being always open visually when loading saved game.
Fixed one more bug with the misclicks on the tiles
Fixed some of the SFX to sound better.

Fixed genestealer disappearing after revealing blip and killing him in autofire.
Fixed the FX displacement for Calistarius and Gideon when doing melee attack
Fixed the unit death in flame after movement caused the game crash.
Fixed the problems with camera and logical bugs when unit exits the map.
Fixed the bug when pressing undo while moving, leading to the unit being “frozen”.
Fixed the game freeze sometimes when trying to select next genestealer and no genestealers has any AP left.
Fixed missing camera panning on opponent melee attacks when action camera is switched off
Fixed using last flamer shot into room would causing Terminators to lose, not win in mission Cleanse and Burn.

Just in the Same boat, but with my second edition "home made copy" (it was on White Dwarf :P ages ago). I love it but my friends are never up to play since is a 2 players game (is like were always at least 3 when playing boardgames....)

I even have some old tactical marines unmounted in order to used them with the alternative rules for the power armour... ( I have to assemble them, I still even haven't the genestealers and the old metal termies ready to play :P)

Is great game and the expansions added a lot of fun... wouldn't mind playing again...

BTW I feel the 3rd edition is too messy on things like line of sight...

Just got this a few days ago.

I have never played the board game but am a big fan of the universe and other game series. I must say i am enjoying it quite a bit.

    Pros.
    - Real Strategy & Thought required.
    - Universe is interesting
    - Relatively easy to pick up, but will take a while to master & understand all the minor rules.
    - No bugs, or issues encountered thus far.
-Good campaign structure with each mission taking about 30-60mins with a save feature if necessary
    -Varied maps.

    Cons
    - Animation is ok, hopefully they work on it for the future
    - Learning curve whilst not too steep it will take a while to master
    - Controls can take a bit of getting used to just remember to use the undo button if you make a mistake.

To sum it up to me it feels like " Chess with a good element of chance thrown in for good measure"
