A number of private group water schemes are looking for 3rd party contractors to undertake their Water usage billing administration duties.
Additionally, as I have a good educational background in Business studies, Im constantly being asked by folk to help them with applicaiton forms, grant submissions, setting up online banking, etc, etc.
I have a full time job, but Im really interested in taking on a sideline from my home office, such as the Waterscheme billing. - the scheme are willing to pay the sucessful applicant for their services for a small number of weeks in the year.
Overall If I were sucessful with the above, I still dont anticipate exceeding €5,000 per year. (in addition to my full time job, were I do pay PAYE & PRSI as normal).

My question is.. to take on tasks like the above for payment, do I need to register for VAT and come up with a company name?
