    Hi all,
Just waiting to find out my first signing on day. I started my claim over 2 months ago and am not sure when my first actual signing on day will be, though it must be coming up soon.

Does anyone know if they contact you by post or text message or if I need to call them?

A few days late but for me it's either on the morning before or the one I got the other week was two days before.

Normally it tells you when you sign on what date it is. So you could always just stroll down to the Social Welfare Office and just ask at the reception.

With the new Intreo system you don't sign on monthly - it's completely random - you could get called once in 6 months or 8 times.

I think they send you a text randomly when to sign on

OP - goto your local office and ask them - no point in ringing

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Well, that's weird; maybe it's different in different places. They had the next singing on date the other week when I signed on.

Yes. It is different in different places. The new Intreo system is being trialled in
Arklow, Ballymun, Blanchardstown, Buncrana, Coolock, Dundalk, Finglas, Killarney, Newcastlewest, Parnell Street , Dublin, Sligo, Tallaght
