Looking for a lads cheeky weekend/partying away.

Any tips, suggestions, places to go, best spots etc?

Best place to fly from, good website etc. all appreciated!

^ I value opinions so if you've got some substance behind that statement I'd like to hear more.

We're not looking for Ibiza but Croatia has some amazing party locations, just looking to find other peoples experiences and advice to support.

I have been to Dubrovnik, was there for three weeks once and will honestly say, it is not somewhere you'd go for a lads weekend or a 'cheeky weekend'. Most people I know who went there went on sightseeing trips, romantic trips and some to see the churches/religious scene. I know of a few groups who go out there a few times a year for the religious scene.

There is no real 'party scene' there, that I came across anyway. There's one or two clubs, but they close about 1am and most bars/pubs close the same time, and some earlier.

It's also very expensive there. Small coffees are about €5 (and they are smaller than a regular tea cup here). 500ml minerals are around the same price.

Lunches about €15 per person, dinner double that, maybe more.

It's a gorgeous place, but extremely expensive. Other parts of Croatia are cheaper, but how much cheaper I don't know.

Dubrovnik is the main tourist area, hence why its much more expensive there, than anywhere else in Croatia, so if you are definitely going to Croatia, then avoid Dubrovnik, unless you want to spend a bomb.

Flights with Aer Lingus (only ones who fly form Dublin as far as I know) can be anything up to €200 per person.

monach have a deal to Dubrovnik for £199 per person in seaside hotel for 7 nights.

Croatia is famous for it's festivals and parties, I guess these are based elsewhere.

There are many areas in Croatia, my post was specifically about Dubrovnik.

Where in Croatia are you thinking of going?

Have you a link to that deal?

    Hi Toast,

That's it, I/we don't know where to go, only heard it's beautiful, just Youtube Croatia and Festival or Croatia and Party and there are loads, which appear to be spread across the country but locating the right place for a weekend is key for us.

Somewhere with enough bars to hop around, a club or two would be ideal.

It is beautiful, don't get me wrong, the sights etc are fab, but I wouldn't personally recommend it for a lads weekend. I mean, if it was couples going and you wanted the romantic side of it too, I'd recommend it, but for a lads weekend away I wouldn't, there is very little nightlife there, most people I know who have been there, have said the same.

I personally cannot speak for any other areas of Croatia as I haven't visited them (only went to Dubrobnik for a wedding there) so it is possible there is more nightlife, but where that is, I don't know.

You say you don't want Ibiza, so maybe Dubrovnik would suit you, its busy, but not very busy, and in October it is probably quieter.

It is beautiful, but not really as a party destination, and not in October. Dubrovnik will be very quiet at that time of year, and that's the country's main tourist destination. My only guess would be Zagreb, but I haven't been there and doubt that's what your after.

I agree with roro2 that Dubrovnik will be very quiet (party wise-not tourist wise) at that time of year and it is more a cruise ship passenger/romantic getaway type destination than party central.

I know during the summer months, the island of Hvar seems to be the party place to be seen but i'm not sure if this would still be the case in October. There is ferries everyday from the city of Spilt to Hvar and other neighbouring islands. From Dublin you could fry Aer Lingus to Dubrovnik or with Ryanair to Zagreb.
