I having a weird issues with my PC.
It all started with me bringing my PC out of sleep mode the fans would start up but, the the screen remained black. Only the fans were coming on. If I hit the power switch it tried to start up then went dead. If I hit the power switch again nothing would happen no lights nothing, it was dead. Only after I hit the power button again once or twice after a few seconds would it start up fine. I've started to shutdown my PC instead of putting it to sleep. But, now if I go to start my PC in the morning and push the start button I get nothing it's dead. But, if I hold down the button for a few seconds, release it, then push down on it again(sometimes twice) it will start up just fine. Or, if I push the power button on/off on the PSU itself or take the plug out then put it back in, it will also start up. The PC will runs fine all day with no issues once it's started. It seems to be getting worse though. It was happening sometimes. Now it happening all the time.
I think it's either the PSU or the MB that is faulty. I just want to make sure before I have to go through a RMA request. Shipping is expensive form Ireland.

The PSU is a Corsair AX750
This is my MB http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8Z68V_PRO/ and it's all up to date with drivers and the BIOS

    You need my help?
It does sound like a dodgy PSU. Can you get a loan of a PSU to try it out? The only way to be sure about these things is to try a replacement so that you can really rule something out.

    Thanks Monotype,

I'll use my sons PSU when he goes back to school at the end of the month.

Might not be faulty according to google, sounds like you need to purge the power before you can boot. Make sure your power leads are seated firmly into the mobo and the cable from the switch to your mobo is the right way around

It was the PSU that was faulty. The PC ran perfect with my son PSU in it. Just shows even a top of the range PSU can go bad.

The difference with a good PSU though is that it doesn't blow up and take all your components with it! Well, far less likely at least.
