    Does anyone know why my order from Amazon was dispatched from UK and is now in Belgium? I'm no Marco Polo but surely that's not the most economical route from UK to Ireland :confused:

    Not everything bought from Amazon.co.uk will be dispatched from the uk, the stock could be shipped from one of their warehouses in europe for example. Depends where the item is held in stock.

    Odd, might depend on delivery company then and how they handle stuff sent to certain hubs

    I post my items with DHL. The route of packet to the UK looks like:

    Co. Wicklow(IE) -> Dublin(IE) -> Heathrow(UK) -> Frankfurt(DE) -> Leipzig(DE) -> handover from DHL to Deutsche Post -> Frankfurt(DE) -> Heathrow(UK) -> handover to Royal Mail

    with An Post it would route like Co. Wicklow(IE) -> Port Laois(IE) -> Dublin(IE) -> Heathrow(UK) -> handover to Royal Mail

    But with DHL I pay less for the packet than with An Post (and the saving is huge...) and quite often it's delivered earlier.

    Thanks for that. Must be a cheaper route alright. I chose free delivery so cant complain!
