3G dongle Vs Phone hotspot

Hi guys, I'm renting a place at the mo and have no fixed line BB so am using the phone hotspot (HTC One X). Am I likely to improve the signal pickup/broadcast by using a 3G 'mifi' type thingy? One like this or this is what I have in mind. Cheers.

Probably won't make much differance to be honest,

You could place the WiFi modem in the best/fastest spot for internet and maybe it might improve but not by much.

Getting a proper router might be a good idea from a security perspective rather than a performance one. Windows firewall is only intended to be supplementary to a hardware firewall, not a long-term replacement.
