Long long to wait after job interview

    Hi All,

I had an interview last Wednesday morning. I was meant to meet the HR girl and the MD. The HR girl couldn't attend so I met the MD and we got on very well, he said my experience was adaptable, he liked my enthusiasm, confidence etc etc. I am experienced indirectly in the area I was interviewing for. He was meeting two other candidates - he met one the week before he met me who had direct experience and he is meeting the second person this week who is a graduate.

He said he would be making a decision this week. It is a company and a sector I am dying to get in to.

I sent an email after the interview reiterating my interest in working for the company and my experience and thanking him for meeting with me.

The question is, how long now do I wait to send an email to follow up and ask when they will be making a decision?

    Advice greatly appreciated.

I'd hold off until the end of next week, as hard as that might be. They may want to have a second round with any or all of the candidates, or have a bit of red tape to go through before they can even make an offer to anyone.
