How to use two hard drives together (Noob)

    Ive been finding it difficult using my two hard drives together. I'm used to only having one and installing programmes was a breeze now im confused about how to use my second one. Ideally ide like to have my SSD for Windows and games then have my HDD for everything else. Already my SSD is full, as I can't figure out how to install programs onto my HDD.
    Could someone please explain how to do this or link me to a good video, as this is not really my area. Thanks in advance, sorry for the nooby question! :)

    What ssd and hdd do you have? Games won't be long filling an ssd. My advice would be to keep the ssd for windows and all your programs then use the hdd for your games and storage.

    To save space on the ssd do the following.

    Reduce the page file to 2gb;

    Disable hibernation mode;

    Move your windows downloads folder and any other download programs folders to the hdd;

    Move your system restore points to the hdd.

    I'm sure there are other things you could do but that would be a good start.

    I got a 120 gig ssd and there is about 47 gig free after I've installed all my programs. keep ALL my games/ Downloads & importantly TEMP files on the HDD. there was a pretty handy youtube video somewhere that showed you step by step 3 or 4 different things you could do to free up space including the things that Bloodbath said. Also and this might sound silly but have you emptied your recycle bin recently?

    Thanks or all the tips guys I had no idea. I have a Samsung SSD 840 120GB and a WD Caviar Black 1tb. How should I go about transferring my games from the drives? I have 80GB of steam games and 20GB of Origin. It looks like it would take a while.

    not sure about origin, but google 'moving steam games to a new drive'.
    You can create multiple steam libraries on multiple drives so from now on when you download or install a new game on steam you can specify which library you want to install it too.

    I moved over 100 gigs of steam games from my old pc to my new one, put them on my HDD, installed steam on my ssd, created a library on the HDD and then just transfered the games into that folder. - anyway just google/ youtube it is pretty straight forward.
