Hi I hope someone can help!!

I'm returning to college in Sept as a mature student, I'm currently claiming jobseekers benefit and have been for the past 4months would I be entitled to Back to education allowance or any financial help? My course is not covered by a grant.

What do you mean it's not covered by a grant?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

You should be entitled to btea if you are receiving a payment from sw. However only way to be sure is to apply.;)

If the course is a FETAC level 5/6 you need 78 day, not counting Sundays on a social welfare payment. If its a third level or college course you need 234 days or about 9.5 calendar months on a payment to be eligible for BTEA.

I was just wondering what if your receiving BTEA while doing a level 5/6 course and then when you complete that you look to further your education by doing a third level course will you receive BTEA while doing that course?

Yes, if you get btea for , lets say level five, as long as you are progressing to level six or seven you continue to get btea
