Help: Fitting cadence sensor on triangular chainstay

    My bike has a triangular chainstay... where one side of the triangle that is closest to the chain is vertical like this (excuse the crappy diagram):-

    To seat

    ::
    ::
    :: X
    :: |\
    :: | \ <- chainstay
    :: | /
    :: |/
    ::
    ::
    :: <- spokes

    Road

    The sensor sits at 'x' i.e. on one of the triangles corners... which makes it very unstable .. it can drop one way into the spokes or the other way into the crank arm.

    I tried googling for this last night but got nothing... is there an adaptor/shim/yoke that I can buy to save me crafting something out of metal/plastic

    I used a brake pad that I cut one side of with a stanley knife to fit the shape of the stay and the other side (flat) held the sensor. Cheap and effective!

    I have thanked you simply for your awesome in-post diagram.

    Would some folded over inner tubing help give a better base to attach to?

    I think the brake pad idea should work well or if you don't have a spare brake pad, a pencil eraser should do the trick. Cut it to shape and then tape it in place and fit the cadence sensor on top. Tie wraps should hold everything in place then

    The pencil eraser was the first thing that came to me after the brake pad idea... mainly coz there was one next to the keyboard on my desk. Thanks for post as well.
