Just thought it would be interesting to know how people watched last nights episode.
Do you prefer Netflix then having to downloading it? or will you download a nice HD rip of the episode anyway?

Ugh I clicked "download" as that's what I'd usually do but last night I couldn't sleep so I watched a stream. Absolutely dreadful idea. I wasn't alert at all and the ads are horrendous. Even if I was in the states, I would wait until a download appears or watch in Netflix just because the ads are that bad.

Watched it when I got in from the pub and had to watch it again this morning as I couldn't remember it

I find it hilarious that people have waited the guts of a year to watch this episode but can't hang on another 12 hours or so to watch on Netflix and stay up and watch a stream.

Had to turn off the media hint extension in chrome that I had for getting US netflix content.

Episode 9 showed up after that.

I just have a standard Irish Netflix account, no messing around for US content!! Heres a screenshot i just took, no ep 9, sad face

Well, when you know it's a year away, you tend to just get on with things but when it's a mere few hours away, it's understandable, IMO.

I find it hilarious that people seem to search out ways to feel superior.

Do you have the Media Hint add-on enabled for US Netflix? If so, disable it, it's not up on US Netflix yet.

I used to do that with comedies. I would enjoy the jokes twice as I wouldn't remember them on the second viewing

I watched on the AMC live stream as I was just home from work. So many ads. I don't know how Americans deal with that. I'll wait til the following Monday in future!

If that's a dig at me, save your energy. I didn't mean that to be any way condescending, I just genuinely find it funny is all, so you might want to keep your smart arse comments to yourself.

Why on earth would I feel superior for being able to wait a few hours?

Panic over, was checking on my work PC which is linked to a US server, checked on the Netflix iphone app and there it is ready to go, :)

Watched it live last night, worked perfectly but the ads in the US are really annoying. For an extra 6 hours, I think it's worth it to just wait for Netflix at 8am the following morning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,609 ✭✭✭irishgirl19

Is that with the Irish netflix too?

I think I need to turn off this media hint you speak of...How do I do this? I'm on Netflix US. Can I switch back to the UK/Irish version just to watch this.

Watched it this morning on Netflix, actually was up at 2am and found a poor stream that just died 5 minutes into it so I went to bed!

Netflix. Perfect really, instant HD on my telly without having to bother with downloading, transferring etc
Yeah, same here. Have UnblockUs enabled for US most of the time, but then realised that Dexter was on UK/Ireland version so don't use the UU as much now! Stream quality was very good too.

It's just a shame Netflix can't be the go-to for all programmes instead of rights being disjointed across various competing services. not their fault of course, but a shame.

Downloaded it to keep on file with the rest of the episodes but watched it on Netflix. They'll be watching their viewership stats carefully on this one and the more views they get, the more likely they'll do the same in the future for other shows.

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 18,002 Mod ✭✭✭✭ixoy

Watched it on Netflix. It's good to be able to finally get content so quickly at such a reasonable price. Anyone who is a fan of such programming should seriously consider this as an option - all you'd need is one free trial month and pay for one month. If you're not willing to fork out €6.99 to help support a show of this calibre then you're just cheap.

I had no idea it was on Netflix. I thought that it would take months for it to be there. Won't be downloading it in future.

I TiVo'd it. It doesn't take much to fast forward through the ads, and they give me a slight breather.

I have Netflix but I was like a kid on christmas morning waiting for a reasonable hour to get up and see what Santa brought last night so I stayed up and watched a live-stream. Ads were very annoying and I was probably too tired to appreciate it properly. Will watch it on Netflix again before next Monday.

Just watched it there on netflix.

    Nice
