Need advice on replacing front wheel

Id like to fix up my old Bike to get back into cycling. Its been off the road and garaged for 5 years. The front wheel bent in half at some point - Maybe some of the spokes were too tight.

I took it to a bike shop to get new grips, head bearing and new wheels and was quoted €390 which the shop advised I can buy a new bike for. Id like to look at alternatives like ordering the wheel in or buying a second hand one but im not sure what wheel size/type I need to order.

    The Front wheel is:
    Alex Rims AL-DM18 6061H-T6 622x18 Double Wall
    Front Tyre:
    WTB All Terrainasauras 32/30 700x32 / 30C

    The Rear Wheel is:
Alex Rims AL-DM18 6061H-T6 Double Wall
    Rear Tyre:
    Schwalbe 32-622 (28x15/8 x 1 1/4 - 700 x 32 C) HS308

Its the front wheel I need to replace, maybe someone can explain the codes on the wheel and advise where I can order a replacement? Both wheels are quick release.

Bicycle wheels come in two diameters (once you ignore kids bikes and bmx bikes and folders and so on).

These are 26 inch and 700c (aka 622mm).
26 inch wheels are for mountain bikes although some hybrids and some touring bikes use them too.

700c are for road bikes, cross bikes and are found on most hybrids (I presume you have a hybrid because your tyres are 32mm thick).

You have 700c/622mm rims. All modern front wheels use a 100mm, there are 3 different widths for rear hub (120mm for track bikes, 130mm for road bikes, 135mm for most hybrids and for mountain bikes). but you don't need to worry about this because you're only buying a front wheel.

So you can buy pretty much any 700c front wheel and it should work. You current rims are 18mm wide and you should choose something similar if you want to use the same or similar size tyres and want to avoid having to re-adjust your brakes. There is some wiggle room here though.

If you're in Dublin you could pop down to rothar and they'd sort you out for peanuts. Otherwise you could place a wanted add on the adverts subforum here on boards and sort you out fairly sharpish as most cyclist accumulate wheels at an alarming rate.
