Your pleas for races to be held later in the season have been answered!

St. Tiernans CC are hosting a race for A4 and A3 categories on the 15th of September on a course that will appeal to any aspiring climbers.

Online entry should be open later today and places will be limited so get your entries in early to avoid disappointment!

More info on the website and the facebook page.

Route map available here, A4 will be 2.5 laps, and A3 will be 3.5 laps!

I recce'd the course with a few others on Saturday and would confidently put money on both races not ending in bunch sprint finishes!

    Online entry now open here!

If it goes well this year, who knows, there could be an A1/2 race next year!

Oh God, only 90 years to go. At least I can rest easy in the knowledge that the current crop of juniors will not be competing in this race.

Great stuff, looking forward to this.

Looks brilliant. Great to see the season ending with a flurry of hilly races.

Any idea where they put the finish line?

Pretty sure the start/finish line is in Laragh, but I can double check that!

That'd be a fast run-in from Trooperstown so. A bunch of any size galloping into Laragh would be well hairy. Extra incentive to fire the afterburners on the hills. Nice route by the way.

It's draggy enough to whittle the bunch down considerably before the run-in I'd imagine, we recce'd it on a calm, dry day and we were suffering!

Indeed. Even with all those hills to break things up would still be a bit wild having the selection fly down the last drag into the village.

Lads, I can confirm that the finish line will be before the T-junction that brings you onto the R763 between Annamoe and Ashford, so on a bit of a drag, sorry, should have known that before posting the above ;)

It's all in the race book with hazardous sections marked out (see the link on the website).

We will get clarification on numbers today.

Ideally we would like everyone to register online in advance.

    Quick update.

The Club plans to limit each race to 80 riders. As noted we would prefer people to pre-register.
We may have limited places available on the day depending on how it fills up.

Met a few people in Wexford over the weekend who were asking about this so I'm bumping the Thread.

Man, this race is going to be tough. I can't do the Charleville so this will be my first racing in a month and I've a stag to navigate this weekend. Hopefully most others will be in the same boat, though maybe it's too much to expect they'll all be at stag weekends. I expect the first dig up the draggy section is going to be a real shock to the system.
