So as the title says what is your biggest regret, mine is when I was sixteen back in 06 I was walking with friends and out of nowhere I was attacked by four guys that I knew I still regret not fighting back as I could have taken atleast two of them. Funny thing is my so called friends just stood there watching, anybody else got big regrets ?.

Even at this early stage of my life I could say I have fucked up big time on a few occasions and I did regret things I wish I'd done differently, but I've kinda gotten over that. Clean slate from here on out, no point being stuck thinking in the past because it would only drive you crazy and waste your time.

Every decision I've made/not made is what made me who I am today, So I have no regrets. As Shakespeare said, "What's done is done."

Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more; it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Well since my work is quite inconsistent these days I'd be in the same boat as you as well. It can be done. Just consciously make the decision to say fuck this thinking and be more proactive in your life.

Probably being verbally abused by a customer in a low paid job I had once.
I needed the money and just stood there and took it and it was probably the right decision at the time.
But sometimes I think I'd like to turn the clock back and play out that scene again.

If I thought about it, I probably have loads of things I could regret, but why would I think about stuff like that! I'm happy and have a good life - if I had made different decisions, life might be not be so good.

I had two major regrets in life:

Broke up with a girl I was mad about through thickness and ruined it

Dropped out of college as I went into a course blind and not knowing what it was about, plus I stayed in my hometown and didnt go to NUIG where my friends all went.

    ---

I grew a pair after a full year and got the girl back!

As for the whole college thing, I still regret it terribly as everyday now I see my friends all on J1s or off somewhere in the world working until college starts back when I'm just here stuck in an office day in day out which is slowly eating away any ambition I have/had

Not getting a degree when I had the chance. I know I am not stupid but I constantly feel uneducated. I chose to put my babies before my education when I should have ploughed on with it while they were too young to notice me hardly there.

Its so much harder to go back to education to get a degree when you are a single parent living in the sticks and not wanting to disrupt your kids by moving.

I had a horrible break-up with a girl I was going out with for 6 years, she basically fcuked off with one of my 'mates'. In the aftermath there was this other girl that was showing interest in me. We snogged and dated a few times but I never pursued it really cos my head was all over the place so she moved on. I really regret not going out with the second girl. She would have been a really good girlfriend for me.

I used to have this girlfriend that kept wearing this hideous dress, I hated it!!! It was absolutely disgusting and all her mates told her it was nice, it defiantly was not. If I could go back in time, I would defiantly have told her how I felt about it instead of saying it was nice like the rest of her gob****e mates.

Just thinking back is making me cringe.

Not applying myself academically earlier in life. It was not until recently that I realised I could have done anything I wanted with myself.

When I was a kid I was expected to stay out of trouble firstly and then just pass whatever tests I had. I was never encouraged or incentivised into scoring big.

I also regret just playing football as a child. There are plenty of other sports that I am interested in but I wasted my time with football. Football bores the pants off me now.

Walked out of a very good job in 2006 in a huff becasue they wouldn't give me the promotion I wanted. I was unemployed for 6 months and it took a heavy toll on my mental health and my marriage.

    Alright now, though *twitch*.

Not a regret, as such, but if there was one thing I'd change about my life up until now, it's choosing a different college course when I did the Leaving. And actually taking the time to think about what it would mean to future prospects, rather than just making an impulse decision.

I ended up picking the wrong course, dropping out in my second year and not going back to college for another couple of years. I graduated just as the economy took a nosedive and while I'm reasonably happy with where I am in my career now, I'm limited in where I can go from here.

If that's your biggest regret in life, you're not doing too badly.

Any argument I have had with a friend.

They're just not worth it and I feel like absolute $hit afterwards when I realise how much I've hurt them. Sadly it's happened on multiple occasions. Even after we make up and move on with things, I still think back with despondency at the rows I've been in, usually over something completely trivial

Not punching Mary Harney when she grabbed my hand and shook it at an ATM line one day.

When I was 13 we were taken by our PE teacher to the Curragh to some Army place for a one day gymnastics course and the head instructor told me that I had huge potential and he could turn me into an Olympic standard gymnast even though I was a bit long in the tooth. I regret the fact that neither of us followed it up.

I have loads of regrets for things that I didn't push myself to do or follow through on.
