    Hi,
No such thing as a stupid question but how do you/does one pick a new putter?
My putting is letting me down. Obviously I could pratice more but I'm also going to look at a new putter.
You can pratice in a shop but it's only a few minutes and hard to judge.
I have an imitation Odsyeey 2 ball putter.

    Cheers,
    Pa.

Borrow as many as you can from friends and get to a real putting green. You should also go to Halpenny/Mc Guirks they have a basic fitt tool there from Oddessy that gives you the correct lenght and gets your eyes over the ball.

For yourself do u putt with an arc or straight back and thru. if back and thru then get a face balanced putter if an arc then something with toe hang. If you are a bit hansey then maybe look at getting a bigger grip on the putter.

I recently bought a Taylormade Daddy long legs very stable putter with a huge sweet spot hard to miss at the moment.

no problem in my club taking a putter out to the practice green for a while. this gives you a much better feel than mucking around on carpet inside a shop...

so my advice, talk to the pro in your club, see what he says, and he will probably recommend some options to suit you, and he might even let you take something out for a round to see how you get on with it.

I don't. Have had the same one for 13 years. I find when I'm doing the things I should be doing, I hole putts. When I don't, I miss. Hardly the putter's fault.

In fact, I've been lucky my putter hasn't traded me in this year.

I buy ones that I like to look of and the feel of, I dont worry too much about trying to put with it.

Other than putting with one for a season I dont think you can learn too much from spending some time putting with it before you buy. (Other than figuring you hate one)
