Eligibility to Claim Tax Relief on Tuition Fees

    Hi all,

All going well, I will be paying tuition fees (from a loan) for a 3rd level course this coming September.

I have been working for the last 3 months and have been deemed tax exempt due to my income being below the particular bracket for taxation.

Due to my tax exemption, am I also ineligible to apply to claim tax back on any of my tuition fees? If anyone has come through this process or has any information to throw in the ring, I'd be happy to hear it.

    Many thanks.

If you don't pay income tax you can't get a tax refund!

Yeah, I don't know where exactly the refund would be coming from.

    Thanks.

I didn't think so, somebody just told me to look into it and see.

    Cheers!
