The Big Issue - anyone still buy it?

    So I have only seen The Big Issue for sale outside a couple of places lately, Lucan and Clonee. Haven't come across any sellers in town. Time was you were tripping over vendors, unless I'm missing them. Is it worth buying these days?

    Wasn't there a problem with illegitimate sellers or something or other.Only ever bought it once and I don't remember being overly impressed with it,something to read on the throne I suppose.

    Last few times I tried to buy it, the people selling it wouldn't actually sell it to me. Both times they were, or appeared to be, Roma and when I tried to buy it they only wanted me to give them money without actually giving me the magazine.

    I googled The Big Issue, and there is a warning on the website to get the magazine from the vendor BEFORE handing over any money. Hmmmm.

    I still see a few sellers around. I didn't realise until recently that half the money you pay goes to the person selling the magazine. Fair play.

    It used to have good articles. I remember the Stone Roses refusing to give their big comeback interview to anyone except the Big Issue once.

    The standard slipped though didn't it? Or at least that's what I heard - I haven't bought it for years myself.
