As the title says, the full length videos of the American gunsmithing institute are now YouTube free of charge , previously you had to pay for a course to get access to them. illegal to work on your own gun here I know , but the videos are very interesting never the less.…

It's not, so long as (a) you have a licence for the firearm, and (b) you're not doing it as a business (even an ad hoc business).

Whether or not it's wise to be doing that kind of work, on the other hand, is a whole other question...
