Anyone have any recommendations on a car windscreen holder that would take a galaxy s3 in an otterbox case as there is loads for the s3 but having trouble finding one that would take the width of the case.

Also looking for a desktop dock that would take the s3 with the otterbox case too.

Thanks for any info on this.

Edit: sorry ment to state that it is the thinner otterbox commuter case I have and not the thicker defender case.

I'd say any half generic chinese one would do, I'm sure there is ones that will expand and shape to fit around it - I wouldn't say there is a specific "one to fit my galaxy in an otter box case" holder, could be wrong though....

A quick Google lead me to XDA and then this site :

I have used Slipgrip in the US before for my S2 and Otterbox.

He custom makes them holders for all the various phone models with and without the various otterbox cases- build quality and sturdiness is 2nd to none - and is better than any phone holder I ever had.

My order last year cost $43.90 incl shipping , it was marked as a gift of small value and their were no customs charges.

Not a windscreen holder but I have my S4 mounted with Tetrax, sits nicely on the central vent.
Worth a look, I didn't think it would hold it but it does a great job.

An alternative to the windscreen holders; I also use the Tetrax holders, nice and neat, Link

Simply pop the included magnet on your phone case, the holder goes onto your air vent and your off!

For bigger devices, you would need the Tetrax X Way, Link

These car either be stuck to your dashboard, or inserted onto the car vents.

You can get them on Amazon(duh!), Micksgarage(dot)ie, and I've seen them in O2 shops too!

For my first Android phone I got a specific holder. When I sold the phone I had to sell the holder too.
So I got a universal one.

    Something like this.

Its gone through one HTC and 2 Samsungs. The first time you put the phone into it you just adapt the width to make it snug for your phone so in future you just put the phone in without any adapting. Works fine with cases too obviously.

I've had mine about 4 years now and it's never dropped any of my phones or come off the window without me taking it off.

    I have this one

Not a fan of windscreen or vent holders so this one is ideal.. screws into the side of the dash and will hold all the larger phones like the Note 2, Lumia 920, S3/S4 etc

Here's some pics - note the phone already has a cover on it too:
