Who would you like to see as future Taoiseach?

Naturally being a supporter, I think the best candidate would be Pearse Doherty as Taoiseach.

Out of Fine Gael, I think there best future candidate for Taoiseach is Leo Varadkar or possibly Richard Bruton.

Fianna Fáil, I am not sure as there is no one in it at the moment that stands out.

Labour, their most likely candidates, hypothetically speaking, would be Joan Burton or Brendan Howlin, especially considering they have not been the subject of public and media scrutiny like Gilmore, Rabbite or Quinn.

Sinn Féin, it would be more likely to be Mary Lou or Doherty rather than Gerry Adams.

So who would you like to see as Taoiseach in a future government?

Who would you prefer to see as future Taoiseach? 189 votes

There must be two TDs called Pearse Doherty because the one I know of is none of these things.

Leo Varadkar? That snake? No! Michael McDowell in disguise.

Anyone with such a seething hatred of Garrett Fitzgerald has something wrong with them.

Preferably someone who doesn't look like he/she is on strings Thunderbirds style like our current Taoiseach.

Pearse Doherty as Taoiseach? Wouldn't that mean that Sinn Fein would actually have to get into government first. Thankfully, it's a case of Bob Hope & No Hope

He is many things unfortunately none of the above, there is more chance Bertie or Brian will make a comeback than Pease Doherty ever getting that job.

So far 45% of users here would rather see a Sinn Féin taoiseach, 35% Fine Gael, 10% Labour and 10% Fiann Fáil.

    Interesting.

Well since this SF poll was rigged from the start (SF the party with the least number of seats, yet there are 4 SF options!) thats hardly a surprise!

    No Barack O'Bama option?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 630 ✭✭✭liamygunner29

    Lucinda Creighton

Also in addition I would like to say that Pearse Doherty would quite frankly be the most uneducated disgrace of a taoiseach of all time. He belongs in the opposition as a mouth piece, where it is easy to throw your toys out of the pram.

Sinn Fein in government is not only a disaster for the country but a disaster for a party. Gerry Adams attempt talking about economics on Prime Time a few years ago been a prime example and the only evidence I ever needed.

I personally always have time for Stephen Donnelly, Eamon Ryan and Leo Vradakar...although only Vradakar has any real chance at becoming Taoiseach.

    None of the above.

Hilarious how many votes SF people are getting. Shows again boards.ie's bias towards them.

Am I the only one who finds Varadkar an insufferable little bag?

Was probably the child in school who reminded the teacher that she forgot to hand out homework that day.

I know the rest are about as useful as tits on a bull, but Varadkar is such an annoyance to me.
