    Hi,

I need to replace my Rubber Hoods on my Sora 3500 gear levers. These are next to impossible to find except on ebay from the USA which would take over a month to get to me.

I have phoned around my local shops and they all said you cant get them and the whole lever needs to be replaced which I laughed at. I would rather they just said they dont stock them then make up crap to try and bleed money from me.

You can get them, I know they exist, I have replaced older Sora 3400 Hoods but nowhere in Ireland seems to know where to get replacements.

Mine are badly damaged so I need to replace asap, does anyone know where I can get some? My left hood is ok its just to right (rear) lever that I need to replace.

    Can anyone help?
    Thanks,

SJS cycles has the 3400 hoods, is there a difference?

This is the thing, looking at them, they look the same but then others say the 3400 are narrower than the 3500.

To be honest, I cant see a different between the Sora 3400, 3500 and the Tiagra series or even the 105 series.

Just dont want to go buying 3400 if they are not going to fit.

Are 3500 not the new 9 speed sora? Jesus you must really be putting in the miles to have worn those out already.

I'd imagine that the 3500 sora would use the same hoods as the old 9 speed 4600 tiagra.

I know 9 speed and 10 speed huds are not comparable (ie 4600 and 5600).

Yes, the 3500 is a 9spd just like the 3400 etc which is why I thought the 3400 would fit my 3500. I have called two companies now in the UK and they both confirmed that all hoods are different and that neither the 3400 or Tiagra will fit the 3500. The reason no one has any in stock is because these are new levers in Europe for 2013 and stock is only arriving to the EU on the 23rd September.

I will have to buy from the USA and wait the 3 weeks so.

The reason I need to replace them is because I was knocked off the bike and cut the rubber hood on the right side of the bike. No other damage to the bike luckily.

I have a set of 3400 arriving tomorrow from a friend so I will see if they fit.

    Hi,

Yes, that is them, but it is from the USA. I knew I could get them there but it is a 3-4 week post time from the USA. As the 3500 ST levers have been in the USA since late 2012 these have been available, but not so in the EU.

I will have to order from the USA it seems as these hoods dont arrive to the EU until 23rd September.

    Thanks!
