Pay revenue or Pension question

    Hi all

I have looked for hours on the revenue site and cant find an answer to the following question.

    Back Ground.
I am a PAYE earner. I pay into a PRSA.
I also have rental income which will have a tax liability for 2012.
Currently doing my figures for tax return.

If my tax liability for the rental income in 2012 is say €1000, I believe I can make a backdated AVC of c. €2,400 and write off the tax liability.

Does anyone know where I can find info on this on the revenue site. I'm gone square eyed looking for it. Or if I'm looking for something that doesn't exist can someone put me out of my misery.

NB- I'm not looking for the answers here, just need a point in the right direction as to where to look.

    Cheers folks
