That Dulux offer seems to be in a lot of shops at the moment in case someone is thinking of rushing to buy their paint.

Did anybody get a text with a Woodies discount code? My mum thought that they asked for a text code this morning. Do they need paper copy of voucher??? I have no access to printer and was just wondering if there is any other options?

"To SAVE 20% on most items at Woddies show this text. Valid 10&11th August.TnCs apply.:)

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 15,858 ✭✭✭✭paddy147

Is it just me or does anyone else think that Woodies are really shooting themselves in the foot with this "text code" crap.

Their either want a persons money and a sale throug the till or they dont.

Stop with this stupid red tape carry on and save a few stores and jobs from going...before you (Woodies) end up in the high court under examinership...:(

Dunno where you're coming from Paddy, but there is NO NEED for any code. Simply present the voucher, get the discount. It doesn't really get any easier.

I got a text from Woodies about the same offer. Just said to show the text message in store to avail of the 20% discount so if anyone wants to PM me their mobile number I'll happily forward the text :)

So what are the last 2 posters on about then???

The voucher thing .......I still dont get it really.

Homebase and B&Q dont make you print off a voucher and show it.

I had a chat with a manager in one of the larger Woodies stores about this matter....(I was buying a bathroom wall cabinet)..and he agreed with me,thats its kinda silly with having to show a voucher in order to get 20% off.

He even said himself that it shoudl be a 20% "Blanket weekend",as in 20% off everything, just like B&Q do on a regular basis....and no need for computer printouts either.

Advertizing would be TV ads and big signs outdoors saying 20% OFF and not limiting 20% to people who turn up with a print off from the interweb or a text code.

Its like as if Woodies dont want everyone and people in general to know that theres 20% off.

Thats not good for business and their future survival...the way things are going at the moment.............as the manager said to me himself.

yeah, have to agree, PITA printing off the voucher. Used a voucher this morning on a reserved item that was not reduced, but they will not accept the voucher against anything already reduced.

had also wanted to picked up one of the 210 litre water butts that were one week ago 39.99 but are now 44.99 reduced from 54.99!

    Still always tomorrow!

Priced up some fencing for a small pond in Woodies today.

    80 euro a roll.

54 euro for the exact same fencing in B&Q

Even with the 20% in Woodies off its still alot cheaper in B&Q for it.

    On a lighter note,I got 5 Mackerel/Pollack feathers/rigs for 5 euro.

And the girl at the cash till handed me out a 20% off voucher, just incase Im back in the store tomorrow.

    So Im happy enough.:)

I vaguely recall a previous 20% off Woodies voucher weekend and B&Q were honouring the woodies vouchers in their stores too if presented, any idea if this is the case still, as in would it work with this voucher?

Any B&Q staff or customers any info on this?

The voucher worked in b&q as I said a friend rang and said they'd take it. Cheers Paddy147.

In there they were selling off 8ft trampolines and enclosure for €75. That'd make it for 60 if they let you use the 20% off voucher. Crazy price.

I saved a fortune on the pond fencing by going to B&Q and using the Woodies 20% off voucher there instead.

Chap at the customer service/return desk in B&Q Airside was only to happy to accept the Woodies voucher and make a sale.
