    :mad:Hi Guys

I have been thinking about bench-marking and the scores im currently getting are pretty good but in order for me to get higher on 3d mark I need more GPU power, SOOOOOO I decided to order another 2 x GTX Titans to get me into that top 10 hall of fame,,,, I currently have my 2 running at 1150mhz, decided to drop down to reg 800mhz until I receive the titans then do an overall bench-mark, Iv also ordered another 2 gtx titans aqua-computer water-blocks

there will be 2 water-cooling loops.

    1 360 rad cooling the 4 gpus,
1 240 rad cooling the cpu

4 titans? Did you rob a bank recently??? Lol, fair play tho. Must be sweet to have all that power :)

ROFL. Is it just for benching? Scaling won't be great for games for more than 2 cards, but more power to you!

Its just for a once off build, no other reason, not for work or anything. It will be nice to test all these benchmarks when I get them next week, Just need to plan how I'm going to organize these water cooling loops in the build.....

Also just for curiousness what temps are you cpu temps coming bak at when on full load ?? and what clock frequency did you overclock\??

Haha, I didn't rob a bank, just treating myself my friend.

You talking about my Haswell chip?

Dark Rock Pro 2 cooler, with HT off (minus 10 degrees), 4.6ghz, 75 degrees in cinebench. Thinks like IBT are borderline unusable.

I must admitty, that quad sli Titan setup sounds amazing ;)

You should do an eyefinity setup with

    or

    :D

What temps would u consider norm for a 3970x overclocked to 4.6-7 idle and high??

Depends on the cooling. Plus I'm not overly familial with that chip.

BTW, my idles are 28 - 30 degrees.

Not sure about idle. I wouldn't be too concerned with those temps anyway. Load I'd say anything below 80c should be fine depending on which test you are using. You aren't going to be stressing the cpu anywhere near max while gaming anyway.

Oh, I'm not :P I just wish I could push it to 4.8 or something. I could with a delid, but I'd be looking at 1.4v which is just too high for me really. Not worth the effort.

I wouldn't risk a de-lid for minimal overclock gains. The lower temps from a de-lid could make the cpu more stable at lower voltages though.

Perhaps, but is it really worth it? Haswell idles at insanely low voltages, and the IVR is very smart at applying the necessary voltages. I can be watching streams and browsing and it hangs around 0.8v. At ~1.34v at max, it's not going to do damage in the long run. I'm happy enoug with it. As soon as I manage I sell my 3570k/d3h for ~270 euro my upgrade to the 4770k will have been a free one, so I'm not too bothered with it :P

Full load on the AMD 8350, 4.01ghz, all 8 cores at 100% during a compilation task, hits 68 degrees after about 30 minutes in a warm office. Not currently overclocked, 41 degrees idling.

My computer crashed at 4.6-7 while running prime95, but didnt running cinebench and intel burn test, what ur views?>

Well clearly you need more voltage. Cinebench isn't as stressful as IBT or even Prime, but these programmes are overkill when it comes to stress testing.

Just running Prime is fine for stressing SB-E.

ok mate, First thing I need is better cooling at this stage, as im running 2 gpu of the same loop my temps are diminishing on my cpu

I'd be worried about running 4 titans off of 1 loop. By the time the water gets to get 4th card surely it's pretty toasty.

I'm gonna dedicate a large external radiator for the 4 gpus, and 1 480 rad for the cpu using push ans pull method.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

Ah yes but no matter how much you cool that water it still has to go through 4 graphics cards in 1 go before it gets back to the rad. I'd say the difference in temps between the top and bottom card would be pretty large but I have no experience doing something like that. It makes sense though.

Those GPUS run pretty low on temps. my current titans overclocked 1150mhz, are on one loop with my 3970x overclocked to 4.5ghz and temsp of gpus are 25 idle, 39 max. so a large external rad would be way OVERKILL.

But i like to keep COOL

If this were overclockers.net I'd be saying "Subbed!!" right about now. :D

If ever a PC deserved a car radiator and huge bank of GT AP15's its an overclocked Haswell with 4x Titans :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,816 ✭✭✭Calibos

Saw a guy who drilled holes in his floor to run the pipes to a big car radiator with fans set in the void underneath his house. Stable ambient all year round down there with über cooled but silent PC above.

Crazy. It would take a beast of a pump to keep good flow with that though. You don't want the water pressure too high either. I wouldn't say pc compression fittings or water blocks are designed to take too much stress.

What it is sensitive to is somebody creating needlessly large amounts of threads relating to the same topics. Something you have been doing since joining it.

"What it is sensitive to is somebody" doesn't actually constitute as a proper sentence :), are you still in school?

RE watercooling: The water (and consequently the GPUs) won't heat up as much as you're thinking. What you have to remember is that the water is passing through the blocks pretty damn fast (assuming you have a pump that can keep the pressure up, and blocks that aren't ridiculously restrictive). With four, you'll probably see a couple of degrees difference, but not a whole lot more than that.

Also, blades, you grammar is some of the worst I've ever seen (evidenced particularly from Bloodbath's post above), so let's not throw stones, eh?

Correct,14th is the highest score using water on hwbot.

You have been asked (by lots of people) to stop starting new threads for everything instead of keeping all your info about your top end rig in the one place.
People would have a better idea what you posts are about if in one related build log.

I could see why people would/could be short with you also as you came on here with your new account asking for advice but ignoring most of it.
Most of us I'd imagine also know your old adverts and boards account so that might not help you either ;)

    Hwbot.org
I stand corrected it the 14th position for water as it was only for a single card.
Not many will use LN2 on multiple cards.

If you search through hwbot you will find lots of bench, ark results to compare to.

    http://hwbot.org/benchmark/3dmark_-_fire_strike_extreme/

Some on water the high ones are lb2 but to get much over 16000 look like water is not enough remembering that most of these guys are working with cherry picked components from the manufacturers and are professional overclockers. Throwing money at it is not going to necessarly going to get you up there.

Because you were also quite rude with that old one, and completely ignored advice given to you, after asking many of the same things over and over. You were also caught at time wasting on Adverts. That's not to mention a couple of not so nice PMs I got from you as well.
