Reseeding - Cutting silage after spraying

I have 6 acres I am going to reseed over the next couple of weeks, there is a crop of silage on the field at the moment... I sprayed the field with roundup/gallop on Sunday, how long should I leave it until I cut the field for silage? I have heard conflicting times, anything from 5 to 10 days...or is anywhere within that time frame ok?

6/7 days, make sure the spray has reached the roots at that stage or else leave a few days longer

This time of year with the growth the way it is about 5 days is adequate. Watch the top of the green leave as it turns purple start cutting.

With that heat, it will go fairly fast. Worst thing you could do it let it go too far before cutting. You'd end up with muck!

no you wont unless you leave it burn right off.I have often silaged brownish sprayed off stuff due to broken weather and the sugars have being bananas in it and cattle wolfed it down. Ideally knock 5 days +

Im going spraying off thin wholecrop today and hope to get it gathered at the weekend and have it direct drilled back in grass before next week. Just a bit of weed hanging on the floor of the crop so hoping this will do the trick

as pudsey said when the crop turns cut it as the crop is dead to the roots, i cut mine after 3 days.

Does the same time frame apply if you are letting cattle in to graze ground after burning off with round up for re seeding?
