    Hi,

I'm building a new extension to the back of the house. Builder is suggesting the following. Just wondering if that is sufficient insulation or if it should be beefed up a bit more:

    100mm Dense Concrete Block
    80mm Kingspan rigid insulation
    40mm residual cavity
    100mm outer block wall

    Thank you,
    GW

Go for a wide cavity (approx. 200mm) and pump it with beads. Get some advice from a certified engineer/architect - it's worth it!

I would be grateful to know what you think would be sufficient so.

    Thanks

That can't be answered in isolation. Walls floors roofs windows all U Values have to be assessed together. No doubt your certifying architect will assist further.
