Nexus 7 3G can't get mobile data working

I inserted the SIM card. I have tried factory resetting, powering off and on, switching airplane mode on / off, switching off Wi-Fi and cannot get mobile data to work. I've tried two active SIM cards. All to no avail. Am I missing something?

Is there anywhere in Ireland that carry out warranty repairs?

In the Settings if you go to 'about device' and then status what info do you see regarding 'mobile network type' and Roaming ?

    Have you added the APNs?

No info whatsoever regarding mobile network type

In Settings>wireless & networks> more> there's nothing about mobile networks or APN, (just aeroplane mode, VPN, NFC, or Android Beam

Nothing coming up about mobile networks or APNs in Settings.

The device is being collected by UPS tomorrow to go for repair in England.

Sounds like you got the wifi version.

Serial number on screen matches box label. There is also an IMEI number on the same box (but cannot access the IMEI on screen). There is also the sim tray.
