    Hi,

Can anyone point me to a how-to article for gum massage. I have heard that it can be beneficial for improving general gum health by stimulating increased blood supply to the gums. So, I would like an article with detailed instructions about how to go about performing this correctly, what kind of implement would be suitable and how much pressure to apply, risks of doing wrong if any, etc. So it anyone knows of a relevant resource could you post a link ?

    Thanks,

    Usjes.

Use a toothbrush, do it twice a day. After that use floss to get the gum between your teeth. Brush the area where the tooth come out of the gum. A hygienest will show you if you are unsure, or look up proper brushing technique on youtube.

    Hi Fitzgeme,

Yes gums get massaged as a consequence of brushing, but this is not what I am talking about. I am interested in something more deliberate and targeted for which there are specific implements like this:
    http://www.amazon.com/Butler-G-U-M-Gum-Stimulator-600/dp/B000GFZPWM
It seems one could derive some benfit from this as opposed to absent-mindedly chewing on a pen while at ones desk. It's not exactly practical to use dental floss or a tootbrush in the office.
So I'm interested in the safe use of tools like this and whether or not there is a danger of doing more harm than good by over-using them.

This is a total waste of time, if you want healthy gums. Brush and floss twice a day & dont smoke. You dont need to be stimulating your gum during the day, food does that for you.
