Glasses for work

    I've started a new job lately where I'm basically staring at a monitor for eight hours a day.
    And I've noticed that I've had a lot of eye strain because of this.
    So I went into specsavers and was told that I could get anti - glare glasses to solve this issue to wear while I'm working.
    I've never needed glasses before and one of the lads says that the company I'm working for has to cover the cost of the glasses ?
    Just looking for a little clarification on this from someone thats been down this road before.

    When I asked in specsavers they weren't entirely sure

    I'm not sure there is a Section 1(1) of the must provide glasses at work Act 1996 but I would assume it comes under a general requirement to provide a safe working environment. I know at my place an eye test and some contribution to glasses is available. As for work providing them for you, you might not end up with a the stylish ensemble you're looking for.

    All that said are you taking regular breaks and is your work station set up correctly etc. etc. ?
