It seems that it was not just the evil East Germans who were at it. And in fact if the 1954 allegations are proven the West Germans might have started first.

There are also suggestions that the 1966 WC team were doped which included Franz Beckenbauer and the 1954 WC winning team were doped who beat the overwhelming favourites of the time Hungary who included one of the best players in the world who should have won a WC winners medal Ferenc Puskas.

(S)he does. New report imminent from Germany reviewing the whole period and govt sponsored doping even on the West side.

It would be grape if we could talk about something more topical.

the '54 story is well known. Glanville keeps banging on about it.

But, that that was supposed to be the DFB. This new revelation is that they drugged all their athletes across all disciplines. Not one football team in one football tournament.

Why are people always so shocked about doping in sport? It's been going on since competitive sport started. Are sports fans really that naive?

It's not just the East German women who look manly so this is no surprise.

Yes, they are actually. A lot of people seemed genuinely shocked when Lance Armstrong was exposed as a doper, people think Bolt is 100% natural, and most Premier League fans seem to think that PED abuse is non-existent in the sport they follow.
